January 29th, 2008 - My birthday

January 29th, 2008 - Yep, that's my birthday. What a great day to come out and see the world for the first time. Hey, if you didn't know I share that same birthday with my Grandpa Townsend, of course he is a few years older than me. I also share that same birthday with my great-uncle Greg, which is very likely the reason that I decided to choose this day as my birthday since everybody loves Greg;)

My name is Robert Matthew because I am named after my Grandfather on my mother's side. He was my parent's hero and is a great honor to me to share his name. He went by his first name but I am going to use our middle name, so please just call me Matthew.

Here are a few photos of me on my birthday and during the first 48 hours of my life that I had to spend at the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital where I was born.

At 1:49 in the morning after making my mom go through almost 18 hours of labor I decided to come see the world. Here is one of my first pics as I was getting checked out by the baby nurse.	Here you can see that I have been marked with my bracelet to officially tell the doctors who I am. How do you like my hair? You can never have a bad hair day when you are a baby right?
The baby nurse - Aunt Annette as she called herself - did a great job of cleaning me up.	Heaven...in the arms of my mother after being all checked out.
During my first day of life I had seven visitors from my dad's work. While five of them were visiting I decided to test my dad's skills at diaper changing. Here is my first diaper change by someone other than a nurse...	Bam! Record time. And in front of his boss and first sergeant my dad changed my diaper with no problem, and my aunt Courtney was worried that my dad didn't have diaper changing skills, ha!
