Ian received the honor of commanding the 545th MP Company, 1st Cavalry Division, for 17 months from March 2003 to September 2004.  The company returned home to Fort Hood, Texas in March 2005 from a year of service in Baghdad, Iraq. This page is kept alive by Ian as a tribute to the heroes - the Troopers, NCOs and Officers of the 545th that he was fortunate enough to serve beside in combat.

After entrusting the guidon and command of the 545th MP Company to the new commander Ian transferred to the Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 89th MP Brigade to serve on the Brigade Staff.  He redeployed with HHC in December 2004.
