  Knoxville, TN

University of Tennessee Football

We were invited by Susan's cousin Bill and his wife Sharon to come to Knoxville and see their family for a weekend now that we live in Tennessee.  Their daughter Lauren will graduate from there this school year.  It was a great trip because UT played a rival game against the University of Georgia (one of Ian's cousins schools!).  Here are our photos of our trip in the only shade of orange that we are willing to wear - Tennessee orange - NOT burnt orange from our rival school down in Austin, TX.

Although we live in this state now we have to still show that we are Aggies to the core right in front of the home of Tennessee Football!

Bill, Sharon and Susan pause for a photo outside a frat house during our walk to the stadium.

Susan, Ian, and second cousins Christina, and Lauren smile while hanging out at the house.

The walk in a sea of orange to get to Neyland Stadium.

Enough said.

The home football team arrives through the T made by the band.

Seats on row 16 just above the checkerboard endzone.  107,052 in attendance that day for this rivalry game.  That is more than the population of Clarksville, TN where we live!  We don't know if Nyland Stadium becomes the third largest city in the state - Nashville, Memphis, Nyland? - like Memorial Stadium in Nebraska does on game day but it must be close...

The Tennessee quarterback prepares to take the team in to score.

And score they did!  Nobody expected such a large victory out of the Volunteers against a favored Georgia team.  Of course when you go to somebody's home stadium it is a bit tougher to win as we learned about Nyland Stadium.

Susan relaxes while the Vols fans cheer and the lost Georgia guy wonders what the heck is happening?

The Pride of the Southland Band.  Not the Aggie band but still pretty good.

A beautiful bright, sunny day to watch our favorite sport - college football!

Showing our Tennessee Pride, even in a photo with the UT student BEHIND the camera.
Go VOLS!
