Liberty Belle
American Cemetery at
Cambridge

The Cambridge American
Cemetary at Colton, Cambridge was established in 1944 on land donated by the
University of Cambridge. It is the only World War II U.S. Cemetery on
the British Isles.
This wall lists the names of those
buried in the cemetery and over 5,000 missing in action.
There are four statues along the
wall, these show the soldier and the Coast Guardsman (for Ian's brother - a
new Coast Guard officer).
Inside the memorial chapel. A
beautiful setting.
The memorial chapel is made of
Portland stone, the same stone used to build St. Paul's Cathedral in London.
There are 3,812 headstones in the
cemetery.
