Italy
Our final trip during our two years
overseas was to visit the country that everyone told us we couldn't miss - Italy.
We took one week and visited Venice and Rome as well as a train ride across the
Tuscany between the two. We did this with Susan's mom and Aunt Alice.
It was a wonderful trip to cap our adventures to Europe.
Venice
We visited both the city of Venice
and the island of Murano (famous for glass) during our time there. One of
the first things you notice about these cities (besides that they are
sitting on water) is the beautiful colors of the buildings.
The palace of the Doge is one of
the main landmarks in Venice.
Looking out from the palace you can
see how much Venice relies on water transport.
The main square in Venice provides
a central location for all to visit, meet and feed pidgeons.
When your roads are water ways you
can be sure that some of the foot bridges across them are going to be
ornate.
Big water roads, small water roads,
whatever your in the mood for...
A peaceful trip down the small
water way in a Gondola - only 75 euro...
