April 2006
For the two weeks of spring vacation this year we
decided to visit the countries of Holland & Belgium. We also were
invited for a long weekend to see our friends in Switzerland. We met
our friends that we lived next at Fort Leonard Wood
in 2001. During the trip we actually went into seven countries total
(Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Switzerland &
Liechtenstein)- including five of these in one long day of driving! In
America you can drive for an entire day inside one state! Enjoy.
Holland is known for what else - Windmills,
Tulips, Wooden shoes, bicycles and Amsterdam. Well that's exactly what
we found.
The beautiful landscape and flowers of Keukenhof
Gardens.
Taking a break in a field of flowers, while
someone else takes over 100 photos in the beautiful gardens of Keukenhof.
Can you find the hidden friend in this photo?
Amsterdam canal boat cruise. Here is a view
of a canal with seven bridges in a row that can all be seen at once.
So you ride your bike into the town of Haarlem no
big deal...it's remembering where you parked it at the end of the day that's
hard.
Ian got to visit the Airborne Museum in Arnhem.
This hotel was the HQ for the British First Airborne Division during the
battle for "The Bridge Too Far."
