This is the view from our hotel room on the 22nd floor of the Hilton. What a skyline. You can kind of see the circle that is right of the center of the photo, this is the London Eye. |
One evening we took in a musical at the Lyceum Theater -- The Lion King. Good fun. There are probably hundreds playing at anytime, and lots of American actors like to come over and show their skills on the stages of London.

On a walk around the Westminster Area of Whitehall Road we found ourselves in front of Big Ben and the halls of Parliament. |
This is Nelson's Column in the center of Trafalgar Square. Also notice the red double decked buses that are all over London. |

While enjoying being a VIP for some close protection training by the RMP Ian got to visit the Tower of London. Here Ian stands in front of the Queen's house with a Yeoman Warder (or Beefeater) in his blue undress uniform that they have worn since 1858. |

Inside the Queen's house Ian got to complete his highest honor so far in the UK -- He signed the Queen's personal guest book. There were many royals, dignitaries, and leaders who had signed before him. The book is on the center of the table with a fountain pen in a case on top. |
![]() After the Tower of London Ian walked across the Tower Bridge shown here. What a beautiful day for a photo. |

Ian next to one of Her Majesty's Foot Guards of the Household Division, the traditional bodyguards of the Royals since 1660. Notice he is wearing his bearskin hat: this part of the uniform is actually a war trophy that they won during the Napoleonic Wars when a French unit they beat ran away from the battlefield and they collected their hats.
