TEXAS AGGIE flag purchased right after college graduation in 1997 = $20

Cost to send one Soldier to war in Afghanistan for one year = $500,000 (ref)

Having that TEXAS AGGIE flag more than thirteen years later after having carried
it around the world should an opportunity arise to gather with other
Fightin' Texas Aggies = PRICELESS!!

Whoop!
Ian '97

This flag has flown at Aggie Musters, gatherings to watch Aggies beat the t-sips in football, and multiple other photo opportunities in the U.S., Canada, Bosnia, Iraq, England, and Afghanistan

Secretary Gates served for 26 years in the CIA and the NSC and under President George H. W. Bush was the Director of Central Intelligence.
On August 1, 2002, he became the 22nd President of Texas A&M. He left Texas A&M to be sworn in as Secretary of Defense on December 18, 2006 under President George W. Bush.
Secretary Gates is a former president of the National Eagle Scout Association, an Eagle Scout, and also a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow.

Clikc here to view for an article about his short talk to about 200 of us at Bagram.

He told us that he thanked us and through his thanking us personally he
wanted to thank our families. So, THANK YOU to everyone viewing this web page!

[This was added in deference to the webmaster who is a Wolfpacker] Additionally, and of equal importance, MAJ Craig on the left of the
photo is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he received his masters in Engineering courtesy of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Surprise Visitor
posted February 25, 2011

Montel Williams made a surprise appearance at our headquarters with Gen Petreaus' Command Sergeant Major Marvin Hil last week. From the short time he spent with us he seemed very genuine and down to earth. He shook all of our hands, addressed me by my rank of Major, and asked me how things were going!

L to R: Our Captain, me, Montel, two NCOs (our detention operations NCO and our K9 NCO), and my friend Jeff who is an MP in the reserves in Massachusetts

He has Military Cred - according to Wikipedia he was in enlisted in the Marines then attended USNA and retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander (equal to Major).

Hi Daddy!
February 25, 2011

From Susan to Ian: He just looked cute and handsome in his seat before heading out for school.

From Ian: If that doesn't just make a father's day halfway around the world I don't know what does. I wanted to brighten your day today by sharing this photo. What a face!
